Our Courses

The Community Grocery has always been about more than just food. We want to give all our members access to wrap around support too. From cookery courses to sessions exploring Christianity, there’s something for everyone.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Money Course

The CAP Money Course is a free course that will teach you budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works. The course will help you get to grips with your finances so you can budget, save and prevent debt. Whether you feel pretty organised or whether you need more support around your finances, the CAP Money Course will help you take complete control of your finances.

Job Course

This course helps you get practical help as you seek employment. It’s a relaxed environment with the chance to meet other jobseekers, get support and gain the tools you need to find work. Being unemployed can be hard to deal with on your own, but being part of one of our course means you face the challenge with other people in similar situations.

Life Skills

Money impacts all areas of our lives: what we can or can’t afford, our relationships, what we eat, our health and wellbeing and much more. Through this life skills course, you’ll gain practical skills and discover new ways to live for a brighter future. If you want to see your money go further, find ways to save money, have more time and less hassle in your day to day life, then Life Skills is for you.

We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions, and share their point of view. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith full of hospitality, a talk and good conversation. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome.

Legal Aid

Following cuts to legal aid, many people are left navigating the legal system on their own. But we are here to help. If you need support or assistance, this course provides affordable legal help with child matters, divorce proceedings and domestic abuse.

Cooking Course

Have you ever had ‘dinner envy?’ Well come and learn how to cook and feed your family with delicious food on a budget: make the food and take it home with you! This hands-on course using Community Grocery ingredients is designed to help you feed your family.
