Mincemeat Bread and Butter Pudding


  • 1 jar of mincemeat
  • 10 slices of bread
  • Butter; enough to butter all slices of bread and an oven dish
  • 50g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 700ml milk


  1. Preheat oven to 165 degrees celsius
  2. Butter the slices of bread on one side and then cut into triangle shapes
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar and 3 spoons of mincemeat in a jug
  4. Butter the oven dish and add one layer of the bread slices on the base of the dish
  5. Pour the egg mix over the layer of bread on the dish
  6. Sprinkle some more mincemeat if you like
  7. Lay on another layer of bread and repeat until all bread is used
  8. When finished, make sure all the bread is saturated with the egg mixture
  9. Place the dish in the oven and cook for 20-25 mins until bread is golden brown. Then it is ready to eat!
